“I am not afraid that the people called Methodists should ever cease to exist either in Europe or America. But I am afraid lest they should only exist as a dead sect, having the form of religion without the power. And this undoubtedly will be the case unless they hold fast both the doctrine, spirit, and discipline with which they first set out.”--- John Wesley

Sadly, John Wesleys fears came true, not just in the Methodist churches but even in the Pentecostal and " Spirit filled " churches! No, the churches have not become nonexistent but many have come to exist as a dead sect, without the Power they had before. John Wesley was 100% correct when he said it would be the case unless they hold fast to the doctrine, SPIRIT and discipline with which they set out.
My 8 year old daughter told me today that one of her classmates mentioned God in her classroom and the teacher told the child they were not to tallk about God in school! A child is expected to ltake sex education, learn of evolution, and other things but cannot even MENTION GOD! And they wonder why our nations such a mess! A nation built on God has turned their backs on the very foundation they were built upon. This generation has lost that foundation in the churches today! The BODY OF CHRIST, the church has lost it! The verses that comes to mind concerning the Pentecostal church is this:

Revelation 3:1-5 KJV

"And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

Praise God for those who have not defiled their garments ,who have. HELD FAST! The Jeremiah's that have held to the FIRE that was birthed generations ago- to the doctrine, Spirit, and discipline which we set out.

I hear Christ saying to the church today, Wake up, Strengthen what remains! And those who have remained shall walk with me and be clothed in white raiment!

WAKE UP churches, He pleads! STRENGTHEN WHAT REMAINS AND IS ABOUT TO DIE!
